The Story Behind 800 Degrees Ridiculous Pizza Deal

LA Weekly – MAY 1, 2015

What does $4 typically get you these days? An hour of parking in Santa Monica? A pair of pants dry-cleaned? Even Little Caesars, the Big Lots of pizza chains, charges $5 for the bloated cardboard rafts they call pizza. Not only is 800 Degrees not terrible, it’s beautiful and satisfying and soul-warming. It’s far better than a multi-location pizza chain has any right to be. Here, the dough is chewy, tangy and blistered with little bubbles caused by actual wood fire. The mozzarella is, like, the real gooey stuff. They have cool stone ovens that cook pizzas in a minute. Most important, they sell pizza for $4.

Los Angeles: Is 800 Degrees Really a Pizza Game Changer?

USA Today – NOV 20, 2014

There are countless fast-food chain restaurants in this country, and for years there have been a growing number of gourmet brick-oven pizzerias, but no one ever thought to combine the two concepts until now. 800 Degrees Pizza is a quickly expanding chain based out of the greater Los Angeles area that takes a rapid-service approach to pizza but does it with a gourmet flair decidedly missing at popular national brands like Pizza Hut and Domino's.

First Look: Santa Monica’s New, Massive 800 Degrees Pizza

Los Angeles – JAN 17, 2014

Santa Monica’s newest pizza parlor is far larger than its sister locations with 120 seats, a private dining room, and adjacent to-go area with a separate entrance and separate oven. The pizza bar here is a staggering 30 feet long, and ends in the signature, stone ovens that blister pies in less than a minute. A copper tin ceiling curves over the space and is punctuated by an Italian glass chandelier. Beautiful white and silver marble softens the deep burgundy banquettes and dark woods.
